Outlook™ 2003 Manual Setup
Please update Outlook with the latest patches from Microsoft.  Outlook has patches available at http://office.microsoft.com/officeupdate/default.aspx
  • Please close all running versions of Outlook first.

1. Open the Properties of Outlook. To do so, go to the Control Panel (on the Start Menu). Open the Mail icon, and you will see this screen:

2. We recommend that you create a new profile. Click the Show Profiles button. You will see the screen below. Click Add, and put in a new profile name. You can call it anything, but we recommend Outlook.

3. Now click the Email Accounts button. Select Microsoft Exchange Server, and hit Next.

4. Enter as the Microsoft Exchange Server, and your Firstname Lastname for the User Name. Next click More Settings.

5. Once you have entered the correct information, click on the ‘More Settings’ Button to continue this process. This will bring up the warning message shown below.

6. Click ‘OK’ on the warning message to continue. This will bring up the ‘Microsoft Exchange Server – General’ window shown below. The cause of the warning message is now prompting us to change our basic settings.

7. Click ‘Cancel’ on the ‘Microsoft Exchange Server – General’ window, as we do not want to change any of this information. Once you click on cancel, The Microsoft Exchange Server – More Settings’ window will appear.

8. Click the ‘Connection’ tab on the ‘Microsoft Exchange Server – More Settings’ window to bring up the ‘Microsoft Exchange Server – Connection tab’ window.
  1. Check the box ‘Connect to my exchange mailbox using HTTP. (Shown in figure 7).
  2. Click the ‘Exchange Proxy Settings…’ button to continue to set up this connection. This will bring up the ‘Exchange Proxy Settings’ window. (Shown in figure 8 below).

9. The settings in the ‘Exchange Proxy Settings’ window should be as follows.
  • Use this URL to connect to my proxy server for Exchange should be set to: messaging.myappsanywhere.com
  • Check the Box Labeled: Mutually authenticate the session when connecting with SSL
  • Principal name for proxy server: should be set to: msstd:messaging.myappsanywhere.com
  • Then change the ‘Proxy authentication Settings’ to: Basic Authentication

Now that all information for our proxy connection has been entered, click on ‘OK’ to continue this process. This will bring us back to the ‘Microsoft Exchange Server – Connection Tab’ window. On the ‘Microsoft Exchange Server – Connection Tab’ window, click on ‘OK’ to continue this process. This will bring up the ‘Email Accounts – Exchange Server Settings’ window.

10. On the ‘Microsoft Exchange Server’ window, if your name isn't already underlined, click on the ‘Check Name’ button to continue your configuration. Clicking on this button will prompt you for your logon credentials. If your name is already underlined, click next, and you will be prompted for your credentials.

11. Be sure to enter your credentials for your login username (name@domain.com), as this can be different from your email address. Enter your password and then hit OK.

Once you have entered your logon information, click on ‘OK’ to continue. This will bring up the ‘Email Accounts – Congratulations’ window. Click on Finish, and your system should be all setup. Please be sure to close the Profile Dialog, and select the new profile you just created as the default profile. You can now launch Outlook, and it will start the process of syncing with the server, and you will be ready to use Outlook.
